I just had my oil changed here and couldn’t have had a better experience. My boyfriend was working nights so I was able to drop off my car before opening hours which was super convenient and the staff accommodated a late pickup as well on a Saturday! So glad I found this place and would happily use them again. We will be bringing my boyfriend’s car here now as well.

Uptown Automotive saved me a considerable amount of money and fixed the check engine light and headlight problems right. Before, I was taking my 2004 e46 330ci to BMW of Houston North until I run into a situation where my car would return with problems it did not have before. For example, the last time I took my car in, it was to replace rear shocks, front struts, and oil pan gasket. When I bought it back; it had the Check Engine light on and a faulty headlight.
When I took my car back to BMW they told me I needed to change all four O2 sensors. I did not even ask them about the headlight because it was going to cost me a ridiculous amount of money already. Furthermore, they kept the car for about two weeks to give me their diagnosis. This was during February 2021. I researched the internet for a highly rated and reputable independent shop and encountered Uptown Automotive. I took it in and spoke with Marcus, my current service representative. I explained the situation. He was and is very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He made me feel at ease. I left my car and later that same day he sent me pictures and computer print outs of the diagnosis and estimate. The problem was a broken mass air flow sensor and broken wires for the headlight. The O2 sensors were ok, which made sense since my car had 75 k miles at that time, used only Shell V-Power Nitro+ Premium, clean engine filters and on time preventative maintenance. He also recommended to do a headlight rebuild; he had a very skillful automotive electrician for that Marcus said. The estimate was very reasonable and considerably less than what Bmw wanted to charge me and for what turned out to be the right diagnosis of my car problems.
Today is August 10, 2021, about six months since Uptown corrected my car problems. The check engine light has not turned on again and the headlight is working flawlessly. Since that initial service Uptown has done maintenance and preventive service for my e46, brake fluid bleeding, coolant flush, gas filter replacement, four wheel alignment. My car is running great, and I am happy because I have found that trusted mechanic shop all sensible car owners look for. Marcus told me at the beginning, “You will like us; you will be in good hands with us.” He was right. Thank you.

Discovered paint peeling from my wife’s 2015 Toyota. Used Yelp to get several estimates. The person from Uptown who responded (Zameer) asked me if I had checked with Toyota because they had acknowledged their white paint had issues on certain models. Long story short, my wife’s car had been covered under their “recall” but it had expired 4 weeks earlier. I was so impressed with Uptown’s attempt to help me even if it cost them a job that I asked the for an estimate to repair the peeling paint. They gave me a competitive estimate for an OEM quality paint job to the roof and really accommodated our schedule, taking the car while we were out of town and having it ready right after we returned. The paint job itself looked great and the blending with the old, good paint and clear coat was flawless to my eye. Everyone in the front office was a pleasure to deal with (Zameer, Laura, Sarah). If I need any kind of body work or auto painting, Uptown will be my first stop.

I absolutely love this place! I have owned a Mercedes-Benz and driven them since 2015 and I’ve always gone to the Mercedes-Benz dealership because I love the experience. However, I did not want to pay that price tag this time so I searched around to find another place. Because you can always save if you don’t go to the actual dealership. Uptown Automotive is top notch. The experience was nothing but A+. I had 2 cups of delicious coffee. They had jolly ranchers which are my favorite. There was water. There were snacks. It was nice. Engine splash shield became partially detached within a day of dealer addressing a recall and giving “free” inspection. Not knowing extent of damage, had car towed to Uptown because I have worked with them for several years. My legacy came in Practically Totaled and they not only got the car Repaired in a reasonable amount of time, They also connected me with the right people to Negotiate with insurance to get the ACTUAL VALUE of my vehicle, and not the INSULT of a low-ball offer Progressive tried to give me! I’ll attach Photos soon, but the Quality is better then factory, no orange-peel or odd texture in the paint, The Blending and Color- matching is almost perfect, Seriously I’m a professional detailer and I can’t even tell where the new and old paint come together.
Finally When I met with them I explained that I wanted to a Bit of a “Conversion” (Look up 3rd gen Legacy usdm vs JDM front end) and they were able to help me plan what needed to be done, worked with me on sourcing parts, and kept me Posted throughout the Whole process and answered all the Questions I could throw their way.
If you’ve made it this far in the review, you’ll Actually be the one who appreciates this as well. They made a Mistake and Made it right! Long story short, I had a small fender bender shortly after the Big repair, I brought it back to them along with a new pair of JDM Headlights, they completed the repairs and Accidentally Tossed the old EXTRA light! As soon as they realized they let me know upfront and had a Plan to replace it right when they called me. That is what I appreciate Most, High Quality work, Good turn-around time and Honesty, Especially when someone screws up. At the end of the day no one’s perfect and they try to be!
God Forbid I wreck another car, but if I do I will 100% take it back to Uptown, and seriously want to Refer My clients to them if they need any body work!

5 Stars is not enough for the experience I had with Uptown Automotive. After suffering a hit and run and having to drive my truck 10 states in a cross-country move, the last thing I needed was issues with my repairs. Uptown Automotive did everything to alleviate that stress and get me back on the road. Laura and Sarah are BEYOND INCREDIBLE. Kept me informed on the progress with my vehicle, communication with my insurance and even did an inspection so I was informed up possible upcoming repairs and maintenance on my truck. Even though my insurance dragged out the process, the Uptown Automotive team was on the job and when I picked up my truck, it looked better than when I purchased it. Phenomenal job. I highly recommend for collision and repairs. They definitely have another customer for life.

New experience (March 2025): great service on an oil change and some body work (a hog ran out in front of me late at night). Uptown was able to use existing parts in the repair instead of having to buy new ones. This saved me money and the results look fantastic.
